If you have been a blogger for any amount of time you are sure to have been a victim of comment spam. If you are one of the lucky few that don’t know what comment spam is I will give you a brief explanation. Comment spam also known as blog spam is a form of spamdexing. Spamdexing is by definition the practice of deliberately creating web pages which will be indexed by search engines in order to increase the chance of website or page being placed close to the beginning of search engine results. It’s our goal to help people make money blogging. So to that end, we have created a new job board to help companies who are looking to hire bloggers reach out to our blogging community.
The board is just starting, so give it some time to ramp up. We have set the fee for posting fairly low, so we should start to see some good postings through out next week. (more..)

The Inquirer today released a story about Google’s reluctance to remove racist blogs from Blogger. They state that Blogger has become a popular tool for neo-Nazi organizations Down Under and that groups of non-racist have been “rebuffed” in their attempts to get Google to take down these blogs.
I don’t think that Google standing firm on this issue is surprising. But, we can see where the slope gets slippery. First, Google has willingly censored their tools before for China. This sets a dangerous precedent for the company. (more..)

As blogging becomes more of a trusted source of information on the Web, we are seeing companies like Google treat them more like news sites. Last week Google made a small, but significant change to their Google News homepage by adding a link to the Google Blog Search page.
Steve Rubel observes on his posting that the integration of the two product might be in the near future, and wouldn’t be unprecedented since Google Finance brings blogs into the fold. (more..)
