Blogitive was the first service to pay bloggers on a per-post basis, and we haven’t stopped there. Blogitive’s goal is to help create a new workplace for bloggers. We are going to lead the way in innovation to help bloggers make a living doing what they love to do.
I first contemplated the idea of Blogitive at the South by Southwest conference in 2005. After noticing how many bloggers complained about the lack of ways to earn money by blogging, I started to think about the value of blogs to companies. It was like a bridge that no one had connected yet.
After some trial and error, I started to build a small network between bloggers who wanted to make money posting and some USWeb clients who wanted to gain some buzz and back links. Now we have thousands of bloggers and over 100 clients participating, and we are in the process of pushing out some new products that should be exciting to both.
Our mantra is just three simple words, but we are putting an amazing amount of effort into innovating the industry and helping people make a living by blogging.
