Bloggers Block? - A Few Helpful Tips for Writers Block
Is it just me or do you ever get bloggers block (writers block)? One of the great things about paid blogging is that the offers/opps give you some great writing prompts. But what do we do about the posts in between? We all want to offer good content to our readers but this can be very difficult when our brains won’t cooperate. And yes, I couldn’t think of anything to write so I decided to write about it.
Here are some tips I have found to be helpful for bloggers block.
1. Search your favorites list. Visit sites you have long forgotten about and write about them.
2. You can blog hop and blog about what everyone is talking about. If you don’t have a blog roll visit site’s like Technorati, MyBlogLog and Digg.
3. Visit news sites and comment on what’s happening in the world. You can also use the good old fashion newspaper or magazine.
4. When you are not going through bloggers block and have more ideas then you can write in one day, write it down and save it for later.
5. When all else fails find a Meme.
There are a few sites that offer some tips on creating blogging content. About.com offers “10 ways to Create Content on Your Weblog“. Problogger offers some good tips on blog content (not for seeking content but how to write posts titles interests readers).
Here’s an idea try writing about bloggers block and do your own research. Not only did I write an interesting post (I hope), I also found a number of useful sites during my search.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the great ideas. I have started to implement them, as sometimes you do run into a wall. I have started to capture stories and then storing them in Word, and so I see them and write about ideas, I add them to my document, so they are ready to go. Keep up the great work.

I’ll often start a post in Wordpress and just blog a sentence, or an idea…and then go back later and finish it up. Also, this site provides great inspiration:

Each time you refresh the page, you’ll get a new idea.

Hi Mona and Colleen,
Thanks for your thoughts and added suggestions. Like many of you I multi-task a lot, and yes, have my own ‘writer’s block’ moments. Incidentally, I just posted something about this in eZineArticle because some people there think there’s no such a thing as a writer’s block. I guess it’s an individual’s point of view.
Well, when I have my ‘writer’s block,’ I usually do something different, sometimes go out and drift to a nearby shopping centre to have a cuppa, or to a favourite bookstore and have a browse of interesting books. Or do Sudoku.
About the 2 posts in between. Yes, this takes up my time, a challenge, but I believe necessary as buffers to the ads.
Best regards,
Tel

Like Tel I regard the ‘extra’ posts as a challenge. It is a comfort to know that others, who are greater writers than me, have to look round for inspiration!

I have a blog that gets a lot of traffic and ususally I get the usual writer’s block… what I usually do is simply to start a rather controversial debate or really “hot” issue and usually people respond.
Another rather crazy suggestion that works is to keep track of typhoons and you get replies from everyone in the world concerned with that certain area!

That’s a terrific idea Bugsey. I’ll take up your suggestion and perhaps do it with my own variation. ;>)
And while Anji agrees to my idea of the posts as extra challenge, indeed, it’s a reality, a fact that we put in extra effort and time. I wonder, just ‘with a little bit of luck’ if Blogitive will sweeten our pot a little more? *Hint! Hint!*
Best regards,
Tel

USuggest.com allow the bloggers to make some extra money through recommended products directly from within their blogs, and hopefully directing their readers to online retailers. As such, the respective blogger would receive a commission from any sales generated through referrals!

Do you have any problems with bloggers coming from countries that do not have paypal service? Will Blogitive extend its horizon to include those coming from the other side of the globe and consider check payments? I am interested to be an active blogger of Blogitive. One promise I can make: when I work, I really work. Keep up the good work!
