Is it just me or do you ever get bloggers block (writers block)? One of the great things about paid blogging is that the offers/opps give you some great writing prompts. But what do we do about the posts in between? We all want to offer good content to our readers but this can be very difficult when our brains won’t cooperate. As some of you may have noticed, Blogitive has been down a few times over the past couple weeks.  We recently moved our site and application over to the Media Temple Grid Server, which is a newer technology.  This of course has caused some down time that has been inconvenient for everyone involved.

We are hoping that this won’t continue, but if it does we will obviously be switching back to a standard dedicated server platform, with the entire load balancing needs.  We will be monitoring the situation over the course of the month and make a final decision then. (more…)

I was surfing the blogospere the other day and discovered something. I really enjoy looking at pictures and watching the videos that bloggers have posted. It could be that I feel more connected by being able to see the person blogger or a picture of what they are blogging about. (more…)

According to Technorati data there are over 175,000 new blogs every day. Technorati is the leader in tracking the activity of blogs on the “World Live Web”. Currently they are tracking 60 million blogs. There is roughly 1.6 million posts per day, or over 18 updates a second. (more…)

We all start blogging for different reasons. Some people blog as a sort of newsletter for their friends, creating a regularly updated mass email without all of those little arrow thingies on the left margin. Some do it because they picture themselves to be the next Kottke or Dooce or Gawker. Some blog because they want to be writers and blogging is the best way to get their writing out there to be read. This is a question we get from time to time.  People want to know how much they can make by blogging for Blogitive.  The answer is obviously dependent on how much you are willing to work.  We have bloggers who post once per month, and we have some that post constantly.  The smallest pay out has been $5, and the biggest has been $1,200!
