Google Blog Search and News Search Integration
As blogging becomes more of a trusted source of information on the Web, we are seeing companies like Google treat them more like news sites. Last week Google made a small, but significant change to their Google News homepage by adding a link to the Google Blog Search page.
Steve Rubel observes on his posting that the integration of the two product might be in the near future, and wouldn’t be unprecedented since Google Finance brings blogs into the fold.
What would this mean to bloggers? Traffic for starters. Google News gets a significant amount of traffic, and that could easily start to transfer through to blogs. It should also mean a lot more guidelines for bloggers. Knowing that your postings are now potentially ending up as authentic news should make us all a bit more aware of what we write, and to start following some journalistic guidelines like citing sources.
The integration will be an exciting development if/when it happens. We’ll be sure to keep watching.

CNN also invites bloggers to please send their pictures and videos
I would think that blogging is already the next news medium except for one question - “who will check the veracity of blogger’s sources/news?”
As for the google thing, google is mainly a business (of course!) and I would think it would come up with anything simply to get more moolah!
